The Tree of Life rises 145 feet above Discovery Island, the hub of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Its trunk and roots are carved with more than 300 animals, from lions and eagles to whales and hippos, and you’ll spot new ones each time you look. The Discovery Island Trails wind around its base past habitats for animals such as otters, lemurs, flamingos and tortoises.

Tips
- Count the carvings. It’s a fun challenge for kids while waiting for friends.
- Come back after dark. The tree is lit at night, sometimes with projections that bring the carvings to life.
- Inside the tree is the theater for Zootopia: Better Zoogether!.
