Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is built around a playful legend: a typhoon swept through a tropical village and left a shrimp boat, the Miss Tilly, stuck on top of Mount Mayday. Every half hour, the boat’s smokestack erupts in a geyser of water. Below it lies the park’s star, a massive wave pool with surf that can reach six feet.

Tips
- Check the season. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach take turns closing for refurbishment. As of September 2026, Typhoon Lagoon is closed and Blizzard Beach is open.
- Arrive at opening to claim a shaded chair, or reserve a cabana.
- Water shoes help on hot pavement.
