Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain towers over the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You board an old tea train headed for the base of Mount Everest, but the Yeti who guards the mountain has other plans. The track ahead is torn apart, and your train plunges backward into the darkness.

What the ride is like
After climbing into the mountain, the train stops at a mangled section of track, then rolls backward through twisting caves. It stops again, lurches forward and drops about 80 feet toward the finale, where the Yeti looms overhead. The queue is packed with artifacts, from prayer flags to a small Yeti museum worth a look.
Tips
- Try the single rider line. It can save a lot of time if your group doesn’t mind splitting up.
- Ride at night. The mountain is lit up and the backward section feels even more thrilling.
- Pair it nearby. Kali River Rapids is next door.
