What it Feels Like to Experience The American Adventure Attraction
As you enter the United States pavilion at Epcot, you will feel like you stepped into History as each piece of décor, music, painting, and flag tells a story about American History.
Slowly browse the area as you find your way to the Colonial theater, which is home to The American Adventure attraction. As you enter the theater, you will notice the tall ceilings, beautiful warm décor, and huge screen.
As you get comfortable in your seat, the lights dim, and the show begins. A pop-up scene on the stage features former American presidents Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain, who re-enact specific scenes and conversations throughout History. There are also a total of 35 audio-animatronic figures featured throughout the presentation.
You get to see landmarks as historical stories are told, which include the Boston Tea Party, the Mayflower, the creation of the Declaration of Independence, the winter at Valley Forge, the Great Depression, the Civil War, and more!
Keep a look out for luminaries like Thomas Jefferson, Frederick Douglas, Susan B. Anthony, Teddy Roosevelt, and Chief Joseph.
If you enjoy searching for hidden Mickeys, take a close look in the American Adventure foyer. The girder features three holes that create a hidden Mickey. Also, pay attention to the show because when you see the Statue of Liberty appear on the screen, you will see a cloud of Mickey’s ears appear.
A fun fact about this pavilion is that the American Adventure building appears two stories high when you see it from the outside. However, once you walk inside, you realize it’s five stories high.
Scare Factor
This attraction has a zero scare factor. However, children afraid of the dark or don’t like to sit still or quiet at a movie theater will not enjoy this experience.
Post Show
Now that you have experienced the intriguing American Adventure, it’s time to explore the rest of the pavilion. Another attraction you need to check out is The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure.

This exhibit has 89 pieces of History to see, and the collection keeps growing.
Once you have finished your American history journey, you will want to do some shopping. Check out Art of Disney. It features Disney-inspired artwork, including framed work, prints, and more.
