The Rules for Smugglers Run

  • You need to be 38 inches or taller to ride this attraction.
  • This ride is ideal for kids, tweens, teens, and adults. 

What it Feels Like to Ride Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

When you first arrive at the attraction will be captivated by the breathtaking sight. It’s massive and extraordinary! As you stand in line you get to see lots of different Star Wars-related technology, video screens, and entertainment. 

The information you gather while standing in line sets everything up for the ride so make sure you pay attention as you navigate through the corridors. 

As you are guided through the amazing pathways you finally get to board and take a seat. Everyone has a job to do on this interactive ride. Choose to be a gunner, pilot, or engineer. Sometimes the seat that you take makes gives you the job instead of your choice. So, if you want to be the pilot try your best to take that seat for the job you want.

The ride starts quickly so get ready and listen to the voice giving the instructions. This is a fantastic interactive ride that makes it feel like you are really flying. The movements during the flight are jolt in different areas to make the movement match the interaction on screen. 

During the flight, the scenery on the screen is fantastic and colorful. Keep your eyes focused ahead as you use the controllers to do your specific job. You will see lasers zooming by, landscape, and more as you zoom into space. During some parts of the flight, you feel a lot of jolting as you chase your enemy and zoom around to avoid being hit. 

Finally, once your mission is complete you come in for a landing and exit get ready to exit the ride. Make sure you don’t forget to grab your belongings before you go. 

Note: You will see a lot of flashing lights during this ride that might make you dizzy or hurt sensitive eyes. If you have a moment of discomfort close your eyes for a few seconds or longer depending on what you need.  

Scare Factor

This attraction has a medium scare factor. It’s a thrill ride that is loud, and dark and features small unexpected drops. If you or someone in your group is sensitive to closed spaces try to take the seats towards the back of the ride to allow more space in front of you instead of the screen.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the place to explore after riding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! Plan plenty of time on your itinerary for the Galaxy’s Edge because you won’t want to leave once you get there. 

Another great attraction in the area is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This is the ride where you will be immersed in a fierce battle between the Resistance and First Order. 

While you are in this area you will also work up quite an appetite. Make sure you check out some of the delicious restaurants including Oga’s Cantina, Kat Saka’s Kettle, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Ronto Roasters, and the Milk Stand. 

If you are a huge Star Wars fan, make sure you schedule to spend a lot of time in this area of the park. It’s spectacular and the lines for the rides and some of the restaurants are quite long depending on the time of day you visit. 

The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area is incredible to see during the day and seems to become more alive at night. The night sky as the backdrop to the huge illuminated Star Wars structures is something you truly need to experience. It also creates an excellent background for pictures. 

A great way to explore this area of the theme park is to begin your adventure two hours prior to sunset so you get to experience this area during the day and night. Plus this type of scheduling allows you to explore the rest of the park during the earlier hours of the day. 

The one thing you will notice the moment you step into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is that it feels like you have been transported out of the park and into a Star Wars movie. 

You truly are surrounded by everything Star Wars! Even the restaurants in the area offer unique dishes, beverages, cocktails, and desserts. 

Helpful Tips: 

  • Look around at the scenery when you are standing online waiting for food or to ride the attractions. There is a lot to look at and you will see interesting structures all related to Star Wars. 
  • Try to stand in line for the attractions as soon as you get there so you can eat afterward. The jolting and movements on the Millennium Falcon ride can cause an upset stomach if you just ate. 
  • Plan where you want to eat after you ride the Star Wars attractions. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and each one offers a unique dining experience. You might want to eat at one restaurant, grab a cocktail at another and enjoy dessert somewhere else. The restaurants have amazing décor and it’s a must-see! 
  • Take lots of pictures and plan them carefully. The Star Wars structures are huge and you need to plan how to capture your group in the photo while the person taking the picture stands far away to get a good angle.
