What it Feels Like to Experience Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
Head over to the theater of the stars featuring Beauty and the Beast. The showtimes are listed on the sign at the pathway leading to the theater. As you walk along the path there is a water fountain that creates a soothing sound and lights up at night creating a yellow and blue-toned feature that is reminiscent of the colors used in Beauty and the Beast.
Walk along the pathway towards the theater and find a good seat. There is stadium-style seating so make sure you find the height you prefer to sit at without climbing too many stairs. The closer you go towards the stage the more stairs you need to climb.
All seats provide a clear view of the stage so it just depends if you prefer to be near or far from the stage. If you have small children that might start crying or become bored during the show, it’s best to sit at the back of the stadium for an easy exit when needed.
The show starts on time and quickly! It starts with narration and ringing bells. Suddenly actors in costume appear on stage dancing and acting out the live storytelling of Beauty and the Beast. When you watch the show it is similar to watching a ballet on broadway.
The beast appears and the costumes are great! The actress that plays Belle sings live as does everyone else. The background setting of each story is beautiful and colorful.
As Belle continues singing throughout the show the scenery behind her changes and she soon finds herself in the Beast’s castle. Popular characters such as Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Chip, and Cogsworth appear on stage in full-size costumes that are larger than Belle. It’s fun seeing the characters at this size and the kids love it!
